Launch of the 'Birmingham Irish Association Musical Lockdown' project

Birmingham Irish • June 19, 2020

June has seen many adapted Covid-19 projects take place at our organisation, but the newest is the 'Birmingham Irish Association Musical Lockdown'.

Through collaborating with a host of incredibly creative, innovative and talented music artists from across our city, we have been able to spread a positive message to our online Birmingham Irish community by sharing fresh performances each Monday morning via our YouTube and social media platforms.
Two performers have already featured over the last couple of weeks, the outstanding local sister duo 'Heed' with their stunning cover of 'Galway Girl' from their mum's back garden, and also an incredibly innovative band called 'Ire-ish' with their performance of 'Bella Brum'. This track lyrically gives a Birmingham spin on the traditional Italian protest song 'Bella Ciao' and spreads a message of solidarity and hope to Italy and all those suffering the effects of Covid-19.
To watch the gorgeous performances posted so far, please click above, and to keep up to date with those to come, follow us via our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages!

Also, if you or someone you know would like to get involved in the project, please drop us an email at jennifer@birish.org.uk
We hope to see you on Monday for our next post!
