Birmingham Irish is the Midlands' leading charity providing support and cultural services to the Irish community. We are based in the Heart of the Irish Quarter in Digbeth, Birmingham.

We have passport forms available, and can offer guidance with applying for first time or renewals. We now have a Photo-Me booth on site in Digbeth which means we can easily facilitate online passport renewals. Get in touch and we'll be happy to assist. (Download Summary Here)

  • Befriending Service

    Birmingham Irish provides a high quality volunteer home visiting service ideally for people who live alone. It is ideally suited to people over 60 who have little contact from family and friends.


    We take on volunteers only after thorough checks and references so you can be completely assured that they will be reliable and treat you with dignity and respect.

    Our volunteers provide important assistance with our programmes and office functions.


    In our front office they help with your passport applications, provide you with advice about services available, refer you to the appropriate member of staff depending on the problem you may have; be it benefits, legal, housing or health issues.
