Christmas Toy Appeal (and thank you)

Birmingham Irish • December 18, 2021

With Christmas Day just around the corner, it’s safe to say that many of us will be cherishing our loved ones that little bit more and making the festive period extra special this year to make up for lost time.

However, for many in our city, the devastating financial repercussions of the pandemic has it’s hold over hundreds of families throughout Birmingham, and many children sadly will not have a present to open under the tree this year.

To aid these families, we wanted to do everything we could, and as a result of this, we relaunched our Toy Appeal for Christmas 2021. Last year, we delivered brand new toys to over 780 Birmingham families in early December, ready for parents to wrap and place under the tree in time for the big day.

We cannot begin to thank the tremendously wonderful individuals and organisations listed below who have been working hard in fundraising and collecting on behalf of our Christmas Toy Appeal. Their colossal generosity will ensure that the children of hundreds of families across our city will experience that extra magic this year on Christmas Morning, and this truly means the world to us.

Our thanks to:

  • Erin Go Bragh Warwickshire GAA Club
  • Sean McDermotts Warwickshire GAA Club
  • St Brendan’s Warwickshire GAA Club
  • John Mitchels Warwickshire GAA Club
  • All Birmingham schools who have so generously donated to our Christmas Toy Appeal
  • Archbishop Illesley
  • Mick O' Brien and family
  • Eddie O' Connor
