Representing the Irish Youth Foundation in the Vitality Big Half Marathon (an update)

Birmingham Irish • August 26, 2021

As we slowly evolve away from the chaos of the pandemic, it's wonderful to see the journey we have made in helping our Birmingham community when it needed us most. There have been so many organisations and friends who have helped us to be a rock for our citizens through delivering essential services, one of which being our wonderful supporters, the Irish Youth Foundation.

Established in 1989, the Irish Youth Foundation is the only national charity in Britain who specifically aim to help disadvantaged young Irish people and their families. We are so incredibly grateful for their support in ensuring that our youth projects have continued in this difficult period, as these services have never been more in demand than they are today.

In order to thank the Irish Youth Foundation for their ongoing generosity, our CEO, Maurice Malone, proudly represented them in the Vitality Big Half Marathon 2021 in London on 22nd August, who performed absolutely spectacularly. As an Association, it's safe to say that we cannot be prouder.

To everyone who has supported through donating to this project, we can't express how grateful we are to you as it truly means the absolute world to us. So far we are pleased to announce that through the Vitality Big Half Marathon, Maurice has raised almost £5,000 for the Irish Youth Foundation!

A truly dazzling achievement, which will make a phenomenal difference to countless other Irish Youth Projects throughout the UK.

Maurice said “It was a fantastic experience and something that will live with me for a long time as will the aches and pains. I just want to thank everyone who supported the fundraising and also sent me messages of support. The generosity of all those who contributed is truly humbling and will go some way to keeping the work of the Irish Youth Foundation going.”
