Our Community Food Bank & Parcels service has now come to an end

Birmingham Irish • July 23, 2023

During the COVID lockdown we were able to serve the community by setting up our very own food bank , with the addition of hot meal deliveries to individuals and families that could not leave the house. The food bank was massively successful during that period of time.

In January 2023, our organisation was happy to announce we received an emergency food aid grant for a duration of 6 months.

The grant enabled us to reopen our doors, each month the need for this service was increasing and we served a total of 935 members of the community in Birmingham. We offered hot food and food parcels each week on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays.

This service has now come to an end, it was a huge success and we managed to reach out to the people most in need in our local community.

A massive thank you to our staff that made this service run smoothly each week and ensure the equal distribution of the food parcels. We received amazing feedback and it was lovely to see the smiles on the service user's faces.

A special thank you to Iceland Harborne for donating over 250+ carrier bags to help us with the distribution of food parcels.
