Birmingham Pub Bombings Memorial Service: 21 November - save the date
This year marks the 48th Anniversary of the Birmingham pub bombings, which took place on the 21 November 1974.
The memorial trees on the plaza outside New Street Station has provided family members, relatives and the people of the city a place of reflection and remembrance of all those affected by that tragic night.
In keeping with the tradition since its opening, the Birmingham Irish Association and the Misneach committee will be holding a memorial service at the trees on the 21 November.
We are delighted to announce that this year will see the official opening of permanent lighting on the memorial, which has only been made possible through the generosity of Network Rail and the Irish Government Department of Foreign Affairs Reconciliation fund who between them have funded the cost of the new lighting.
Further details of the service will be in the October newsletter but please note proceedings will be starting earlier than previous years with events due to commence at 6.15pm.
Please save the date and we look forward to welcoming you on the evening.
