Bidding Farewell to Pat Reihill, Birmingham Irish Associations Chairperson

Birmingham Irish • October 29, 2022

As staff, volunteers, trustees and members of the community gathered together this month for our annual AGM meeting, not only to discuss milestones, but sadly this year, to also say goodbye to our wonderful, long serving Chair, Pat Reihill.

On the night, all attended paid tribute and acknowledged his brilliant achievements whilst leading the organisation for many years, including the visit of President Higgins to Birmingham, the Birmingham Pub Bombings victims memorial and the remarkable response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

We cannot thank Pat enough as his contribution to the charity and the Irish community in the region has been nothing short of incredible and we wish him all the best in all challenges he takes on in the future.

Whilst we bid farewell to one Pat we welcomed another as the new chair, as Pat O’Neill takes up his new position with immediate effect after being elected.

Pat is well known in the community and has long been a passionate and vocal advocate for the Irish in the city.

We welcome Pat O' Neill to his new role and wish him every success.

Chair, Pat Reihill
